US Hydro 2019 Workshop -
"Innovative Workflows for Today's Hydrographic Office"
With ever increasing data volumes and survey submissions, hydrographic offices need to do more than what was required in the past, while continuously improving timeliness and accuracy in the nautical charting pipeline. This workshop will focus on how to use QPS software to get the job done faster and easier by taking advantage of workflows that highlight automation, efficiency and integration. Participants will learn how the intelligent processing state management of QPS Qimera ensures the correct sequence of post-processing actions with just a single click, and how to easily divide projects to allow multiple personnel to work on a single project simultaneously. Further, emphasis will be placed on the utilization of spline filters for rapid data cleaning and how the "Connected" S-57 feature management increases efficiency by allowing the user to immediately begin feature creation and yet still perform additional post-processing later in the workflow. Integrated water column processing to easily attain least depths atop wrecks and obstructions will also be discussed, in addition to backscatter processing best practices which utilize the seamless connection to QPS FMGT. Primarily through live software demos, participants will be shown how to move quickly from acquisition to open source deliverables. The workshop will wrap-up by showcasing how to effectively communicate survey results through interactive 3D presentations using QPS Fledermaus.
