Meritaito adopt Qimera for their Data Processing
After a very detailed and thorough evaluation process, we are pleased to announce that Meritaito have fully adopted Qimera as their multibeam bathymetry data processing tool. Last year alone, Meritaito surveyed some 8,000 sq. km of seabed and lakes, a significant undertaking which understandably required the timely turnaround of the data deliverables. Qimera’s modern architecture and supervised workflow allowed Meritaito to handle these massive datasets like never before. Recording their data online using QINSy made the processing task even easier as the real-time flagged data is preserved all the way through to Qimera, meaning the efforts of the online surveyor are not lost. Meritaito and QPS have worked closely during the winter months to improve a number of features in Qimera which have resulted in an optimised way to deliver data to their clients, like the Finnish Transport Agency.
Duncan Mallace, Head of Business Development at QPS commented that “Meritaito have some of the toughest requirements for bathymetry processing, due to the complex nature of the Baltic seabed and also the exceptionally high standard required by the regional Hydrographic Offices. “If it works in the here, it will work anywhere” is an often over-used saying, but in this case it is actually true. With Meritaito’s feedback, QPS looks forward to further improving the Qimera experience.”
“Qimera will help us achieve Meritaito’s goals in the international survey market, by providing a high quality, exceptionally streamlined, workflow which allows us to be very cost competitive while still delivering the best possible quality of data”, commented Hanno Kurtti, Data Processing Manager at Meritaito.
