Video webinar "Generic Layout Editor" and Q&A
The video of the webinar "Generic Layout Editor" of the 27th and 28th of March 2012 together with the questions and answers have been made available.
Generic Layout Editor
When we press overview, we can see Driver as one of the layout purposes, what is it used for?
It's used to create an output driver. You can send the created string over a serial port. In the template database you have to add a Generic Output (User defined ASCII) driver. Then online you select the XML file you like to use (as showed in the webinar)
Would it be possible to use the AVE(rage) operator for creating a tidefile from GPS antenna heights. E.g. sampling every 5 minutes and average over the last 2 minutes?
At the moment this is not possible, the AVE(rage) is the Average value over the complete time the display has been open, or the average over the complete logfile or export file. But we have added it as a feedback item.
What about the time stored in the logged (or exported) files? Is it accurate?
Yes, the time is Accurate. If General time is chosen, it's the time of the trigger. If the time of a raw value is chose, it's the time of the observation (as can be seen in the observation physics display) or if a node time is chosen it's the same time as can be seen in a node.
If you alter the properties in the display itself do you need to re-save the xml file or does it update automatically
Yes, it will be saved automatically
