The Wobble Test is unique to Qimera for commercial software packages. The Wobble Test is designed to help the user identify the source of an artefact or wobble which is present in the data due to an incorrect value in the setup.
The Wobble Test takes a raw sonar file and allows the user to change many aspects of the setup that could effect the calculation of the beams and thus the final product. As the user adjusts the value the beams are adjusted by that change in the display so that you can see immediately if anything the value you changed makes the data better. Values that can be adjusted are;
- Roll, pitch and heave sign convention
- Whether the raw angle measurements are relative to the transducer or the vessel
- Motion timing latency
- X,Y, Z offsets changes
If a value is found that improves the data, this is automatically added to the Vessel File when saved in the Wobble Test. If a Dynamic Surface is present this is then automatically updated so that it is clear to the user whether they have solved the problem or not.
