The vessel editor is created automatically by extracting vessel names, sensor names, offsets and calibration values from the raw sonar data directly. What can be extracted depends on the different file formats but if something can’t be extracted the user is asked to input say, the vessel name manually.
If anything in the raw sonar file sensor configuration differs from previous files then another entry is input automatically into the vessel editor. For instance is the roll value is slightly different each day due to using an over-the-side mount that is redeployed each day, then the new roll value will be extracted for each day automatically.
New values can be entered at any time to any sensor and will be applied from that point onward unless another entry is found later.
Qimera can handle multibeam systems with multiple transmit and receive transducers. For instance the Kongsberg EM2040Q has a transmit and receiver transducer for each head and each receiver can have its own roll, pitch and heading offset values, i.e. as if it we 4 independent transducers. This is handled by Qimera and even gives the user the option to swap the reverse the installation values if the transducer was incorrectly setup in real-time 180 degrees out.
