US Hydro 2017, Galveston, Texas USA 20th - 23rd March 2017
The U.S. Hydro 2017 Conference, presented by The Hydrographic Society of America, will be held at the Moody Gardens Hotel: Spa, Golf Course and Convention Center in Galveston, TX on March 20 – 23, 2017. U.S. Hydro 2017 is a continuation of the series of hydrographic conferences. This is the sixteenth U.S. Hydrographic conference and follows on the U.S. Hydro 2015, held in National Harbor, MD. In addition to the technical papers, the conference will feature an extensive series of Workshops, social program, Exhibition Hall, and a Student Outreach program.
Two workshops focusing on QPS products will be conducted. They are:
- A Pre-calibrated Portable Solution for Combined Multibeam and LiDAR acquisition on Tuesday, 21 March at 3:30pm hosted by iLinks
- Hydrographic Processing Made Easy on Wednesday, 22 March at 10:30am
In addition to the Workshops, QPS will be presenting at two sessions at US Hydro:
- Hydrographic Data Management and Processing Techniques Session Wednesday 22 March starting at 1:50pm - Advances in Hydrographic Data Processing: Time for a Paradigm Shift Presented by Jonathan Beaudoin
- Multiple Use of Hydrographic Data Lightning Round 1 Tuesday 21 March starting at 11:40 AM - The GIS based user guided workflow: Acquisition, Processing, Visualization and Sharing of Hydrographic Based Data Presented by Chris Malzone
To coincide with US Hydro 2017, but open to all, QPS in partnership with the University of Houston, invite you to attend an Advanced Backscatter Workflow Workshop on Monday, 20th March at the University of Houston in Downtown Houston, Texas
The workshop will be hosted by Dr Jonathan Beaudoin, QPS Chief Scientist and one of the co-authors on the Backscatter Working Group document "Backscatter measurements by seafloor-mapping sonars - Guidelines and Recommendations". Dr Beaudoin will discuss many of the technical and field aspects of collecting great backscatter, particularly touching on best-practices associated with particular hardware and software configurations and also survey design considerations, as described in the Backscatter Working Group report which can be found here: http://geohab.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/BWSG-REPORT-MAY2015.pdf .
This workshop will be a series of presentations and demonstrations, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptops and data. Qimera or Fledermaus licences will be available for attendees of the workshop, and for the 30 days following we will provide trial licenses for further evaluation of our QPS workflow solution.
The workshop will start at 0900 and finish around 1600. The cost per attendee is; $500/attendee
