    Quality Positioning Services BV (QPS), headquartered in Zeist, The Netherlands, is an independent software design company founded in 1986. QPS subsidiary offices are located in Banbury UK and Portsmouth USA and in Fredericton Canada.

    QPS navigation and positioning software is used on board offshore construction vessels, pipe-lay barges, drilling rigs, seismic research vessels and hydrographic survey vessels. QPS has a fast growing market share in the offshore oil and gas industry, dredging industry and port communities.

    Support & Operations Engineer

    who is entrepreneurial in spirit, creative, understands relationship selling, and has a high degree of hydrographic surveying.

    You will be...

    • responsible for mapping customer requirements to system solutions profited by QPS; specify and implement changes for the total system;
    • training customers worldwide;
    • assist clients setting up their installations on board;
    • a part of the support team, perform helpdesk tasks;
    • working independently and as a team looking for solutions is what you like doing;
    • writing documentation.

    Your profile...

    • a degree or equivalent in relevant subject (e.g. Hydrography preferred) or relevant experience;
    • communicate fluently in English, Dutch preferred;
    • organized and flexible person capable of adapting rapidly to changes in technology;
    • you possess good communication skills – useful when instructing users, doing client training sessions and for reporting back to the Support team;
    • willing to relocate to one of our offices in Europe

    Quality Positioning Service B.V. (QPS) is een product organisatie en heeft ruim 500 opdrachtgevers verspreid over de hele wereld. Ons product QINSy wordt ingezet aanboord van schepen t.b.v. bodemkartering, bagger activiteiten, offshore projecten en kaart productie. Qastor is een tool voor loodsen. Qastor maakt het mogelijk om zeer nauwkeurig te kunnen manoeuvreren met grote zeeschepen in havens. Onze producten worden ingezet in het hart van de bedrijfsprocessen van survey, bagger, offshore constructie bedrijven en loodsorganisaties. Fledermaus is een applicatie voor de visualisatie en classificatie van havens en zeebodems.

    QPS heeft het hoofdkantoor in Zeist en daarnaast nog locaties in Canada en Amerika. In totaal werken er 55 medewerkers, 20 daarvan zijn ontwikkelaars (junior tot senior).

    Software Engineer

    die op basis van zijn of haar competenties, interesse en ontwikkeling wordt ingezet.

    Je zoekt...

    een uitdagende functie als software engineer waarin je verantwoordelijk bent voor het onderhouden, doorontwikkelen van onze producten QINSy en Qastor waarbij vertaling klantwensen naar een functioneel ontwerp tot de taken behoort.

    Het incidenteel testen en ontwikkelen aan boord of op locatie en uitwisseling met onze ontwikkel afdeling in Canada behoort hierbij tot de mogelijkheden.

    Je profiel...

    • HBO werk- en denkniveau
    • Communicatief vaardig in woord en geschrift in de Nederlandse en Engels taal
    • Ruime ervaring met C++ en C#
    • Ervaring met MS Visual Studio
    • +/- 4 jaar relevante werkervaring en technisch inzicht
    • Affiniteit met Hydrografie, Maritieme Navigatie, Oceanografie en/of Wiskundige vraagstukken in een pre

    Business Development – Portsmouth, NH USA (Fulltime)

    With over twenty five years in the dynamic IT sector of the global maritime industry, QPS (Quality Positioning Services) proudly maintains a position as a world leader in maritime geomatic software solutions (QINSy, Fledermaus, and Qastor). We are offering the opportunity to join our business development team based in Portsmouth NH (USA), where you will be primarily engaged in all activities in conjunction with the sales and marketing of our products, reporting to the Regional Manager.

    Our end-to-end solution provides a state-of-the art capability to collect maritime geomatic data, it’s processing, and to publish reports and results in the cloud to those engaged in river or port management, maritime transport, coastal and economic zone management, offshore energy, nautical chart production, and maritime defense. Central to our business model is our close cooperation with our strategic partners and our global network of OEM and Reseller partners.

    We expect you to be professional, experienced and highly motivated. You will play a key role in helping existing and prospective clients understand and use our products in a most productive manner. The majority of your time you will find yourself involved with sales and marketing activities throughout the Americas including frequent travel to clients’ sites, exhibitions and both attending and hosting conferences and workshops.

    As the ideal candidate we expect you will have a very strong hydrographic or geosciences background (related University degree or relevant experience), be fluent in the English and Spanish languages and the following profile:

     

    • A proven track record in marketing and sales, you will be familiar with modern tools for CRM.
    • An excellent understanding of geospatial software for maritime industries and organizations.
    • A demonstrated ability to analyze and understand client requirements, identify technical problems and formulate effective solutions.
    • Be pro-active, skillfully identifying new opportunities.
    • First-class interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
    • A willingness and ability to travel; alone, or as a member of the team.

    Intermediate Geospatial Programmer (Fulltime)

    QPS Canada Inc. is seeking an Intermediate Geospatial Programmer for a full time position in our Fredericton, New Brunswick office. This individual will work within our team of software developers to write, modify and integrate software code.

    Essential Skills and Qualifications:

    • BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a degree in an appropriate geospatial field
      combined with software development training.
    • 5 or more years of C / C++ programming experience.
    • Able to work comfortably in either a Windows, Linux or OS/X development environment.
    • Experience using or developing geospatial applications such as GIS or mapping software.
    • Strong analytical, communication, and team skills.
    • Independent worker with ability to take on technical leadership responsibilities.

    Addition Assets:

    • Experience developing on several platforms and environments.
    • Familiarity with hydrographic acquisition or processing applications.
    • Exposure to agile development methodologies.
