New QPS Head of Product Management
QPS is pleased to announce the appointment of our Chief Scientist, Dr. Jonathan Beaudoin, to the position of Head of Product Management. In this role, Jonathan will be overseeing the management of the QPS product line, in addition to remaining the Product Manager for Qimera. He will be working with his fellow product managers to strengthen and improve the QPS Seamless Workflow as well as continuing to work with research partners to help transition innovative research to operational tools that bring value to our clients.
As Head of Product Management, Jonathan brings valuable experience in recognizing great ideas, helping people improve and communicate their ideas and then building teams that turn those ideas into reality. Here’s what Jonathan had to say about his new role:
“I've been with QPS for three years now, prior to that, I was in the academic sector. I spent many years offshore using seabed mapping and processing software, writing such software and also teaching and training people in such software. I spent time teaching the underlying theory as well as doing research and coming up with new and innovative processing techniques for multibeam sonar data and other acoustic sensors.
Since joining QPS, I've forged great working relationships with a lot of passionate people within the company. I spent the past three years helping build and manage Qimera and also moving forward with our multibeam backscatter and water column processing software, FMGT and FMMidwater. I'm very excited to combine all of my career experience with all of the existing knowledge and expertise within QPS to achieve our continuing goal of aligning our product line to build on the existing QPS Seamless Workflow, bringing additional efficiencies, capabilities and innovations. In the past few years, we've made some very big steps towards this goal and I'm very keen to work with my colleagues, and with our clients, to keep us moving in this direction.
Career-wise, this is a very cool spot to find myself in!”
Join us in congratulating Jonathan on his new position. We are excited to see what comes next and we hope you are as well.
