What's New In This Version Of Qastor?
Differentiate Between Class A and Class B AIS Transponders
Transponder Class A or B is now shown in the AIS target label. Class A is for a sea going vessel, Class B is for an inland vessel. It is also possible to de-select the class B transponder type in Target Settings as this can be useful to de-clutter the screen and disregard CPA calculations with small inland vessels.
Decoding Of AIS Message Type 9, Search And Rescue Aircraft
Should any Search And Rescue (SAR) aircraft be in the vicinity, then these can now be shown in the display. For vessels, this can be important as during a rescue/safety operation they can observe the SAR aircraft or they may themselves be asked to participate in a SAR operation.
Decoding Of AIS Message Type 8, Meteorological Data
AIS message 8 meteorological data according to IMO S/N 236 (deprecated but still in use) and IMO S/N 289 can now be decoded and shown. Decoded parameters are (if available in the Type 8 messages) include:
Alarms For Own Vessel And Other Vessels
Some new alarm options have been added. You can now not only select to raise an alarm when your own vessel enters the various defined No Go, Cautionary or Environmental Areas. It is also possible to raise an alarm when other vessels enter these areas.
Qastor Move, Web Application
Qastor Move, prevously only available as a App (Apple Store) is now available as a Web App. This will make the Qastor extension app platform independent. Any device which can connect to the Qastor machine and can display a web page can be used for this. Once a connection is established it`s as easy as scanning the Qastor generated QR code with a suitable QR code scanner of your mobile device.
