Bert Jeeninga and Peter Das to retire from QPS Dec 1st 2013
The founders of QPS, Bert Jeeninga and Peter Das, have agreed with the new owners of QPS, the Swedish technology conglomerate SAAB, to retire from the company as of December 1st this year.
Bert and Peter started QPS in 1987 and succeeded to create, with the flagship software product QINSy, world leadership in the market for hydrographic software solutions. Under their entrepreneurship QPS has become a steady growing, company with cutting edge technological products in the field of hydrography and precision navigation.
Bert and Peter decided that it was time for a change in their personal careers. They are proud of what they have achieved, but feel it is now time for someone else to take the helm. They both will take some time off to consider their future, but feel challenged to use their immense expertise in new activities.
With the appointment of Tomas Hjelmberg, SAAB has found a successor whose mission is to bring the organization to a next level. Tomas Hjelmberg joined QPS as general manager on the 1st of June and will take on as per direct all Bert and Peter’s executive responsibilities. Bert and Peter wish QPS/SAAB and Tomas success and have agreed to remain available to advise or assist their successor in his endeavors to make QPS an even better company.
Questions and comments may be submitted to Tomas Hjelmberg.
